Lenny is 5-6 yrs old & he is a Whippet cross. Brindle & white in colour. He is a very quiet dog, loves dogs, children of all ages & all small animals including cats. Very much a couch potato. Tigger
Tigger is a lurcher cross, he is very bouncy and so loving, He is currently having training with a special lady from lurcher link, and he is improving all the time ! but a very friendly boy, fantastic with other dogs, not tested with small furrys though! He is fantastic travelling in the car, and seem’s to enjoy just having some company, Tigger will make a fantastic loyal companion once he finds his special friends who will love him forever,
Unfortunately Tigger is not doing so well in the kennels, he has been with us about 10 months with little or no interest and everyone seems to pass him by !! so if anyone would be interested in fostering tigger until he finds his forever home or If you can’t foster but would like to “borrow” Tigger for periods of time to help train him or just to take him for a walk etc please call Jill on 07780 671 649. Thank you.

Josh

Josh is a Beautiful lurcher dog , he is castrated and house trained, he walks lovely on the lead and is an absolute dream to walk, he would be best suited to a home with a couple or an only owner, as he gets attached to people quite quickly, josh needs someone who is confident as he has spent a long time in kennels now, he really needs someone to give him a chance for him to prove what a super special dog he is, josh is a very loving dog and gives loads of kisses and doesnt stop wagging his tail. he gets quite sad and depressed in the kennels and really needs to find his forever home soon,

9 month old brothers. These poor boys have spent most of their lives in kennels through no fault of their own. They are lovely litter brothers but can be homed seperately. Please can somebody give one of these or both of these boys a chance.
Flynn

NAME: Flynn, Male Lurcher, c1 to 2yrs old
CHARACTER: Finn is a typical lurcher, full of fun with an inquisative nature. He loves attention and loves to be with people. He enjoys stretching his legs and loves a good run.
HOME BEST SUITED TO: Finn would thrive in an environment with or without other dogs, due to his lurcher temperament he would not be suitble for a home with cats. He would best suit a family that would enjoy exercising him via walks and play.
Ben

We are not sure of his exact breed but he is definitely a gentle giant. Ben is quite a large dog but he is affectionate, great on the lead and likes nothing more than a lazy day either pottering in the garden or on the sofa. Another favourite past time is going for rides in the car and will settle to sleep on any length journey.
Ben is currently being fostered with a Jack Russell and gets on well with every dog he has met. When he first went to his fosterer Ben was a little nervous and liked to stay out of the way, he has now been in a loving environment and so has become a more confident and loving boy to be around. He has the most beautiful smile when being stroked but knows when to back off and give you some space.
His teeth are in a bit of a poor state from his previous life but they don’t cause him any ongoing problems and he can eat dry food without a problem. He doesn’t need masses of exercise each day despite his size, he is happy with a 15-20 minute walk as long as there is a garden that he can visit every now and then!
If you can help find Ben his new forever home please contact us ASAP. Many thanks.
Toby
“We brought a Jack Russell called Jasper off you in March. I am sending you some photos so you can see what he is like now. We have renamed him Toby. Am so happy that you let us have him he is such a character. Thank you.
Oscar
We adopted Oscar ( was Paddy) in July, he had been rescued as a puppy with his sister from Ireland I think (there is still a photo of the puppies on your website). We think he is a collie/lurcher cross, but not sure.
We just wanted to let you know how gorgeous he is! He is such a zingy, bouncy dog we should have called hime Tigger, he bounces around with legs that are too long for his body, charging around the garden, jumping on the trampoline, the garden table, he chases the birds, the chickens anything that moves and digs huge holes!
He has given us hours of pleasure these past few months and we would just like to say thank you sooo much for letting us adopt him. I have attached some photos. We are in Chester now if you know of the wherabouts of his sister, please could you forward this email on to her new owners as we would love to get in touch to see how she is doing. (We felt very guilty leaving her when we picked up Oscar)
Again, thanks, Julie, Tim and Jordan Coxall”
Marley
Meet marley, he is a beautiful lurcher, about 4 yrs old, lovely lad, little bit shy at first but soon comes round, walks lovely on the lead, gets on well with other dogs, fantastic and gentle with children, clean in the kennel, just a lovely dog that needs a little time and lots of tlc, he will make a very loyal family companion

He’s great with other dogs (has to put up with my 5 month old labradoodle and boxer dog bouncing around with him and copes v well) He’s also clean in the house.”
Gambit
We have just had this message from Gambits new owners so I thought I would share it – always nice to hear a happy ending – Thanks for the message
“Hi. I just wanted to update your Happy Endings listing for Gambit. Last year, Father Christmas chose him via Merlin Animal Rescue for our daughter, Lily, and he quickly became a well-loved member of our family. Renamed Buddy, he is a happy, healthy boy, who gets lots of walks and affection from all three of our children. And he is so handsome! Your photo doesn’t do him justice. Can we send you a new photo? Kudos to his foster Mum, Pam, who guided us patiently into becoming responsible dog ‘parents.’ Thank you, Merlin.”
Yes of course you can send us a new picture and I will get it up ASAP. Thanks again.
Benji – Terrier
I had walked for many days and nights, my paws were so sore, I was so so hungry and my coat was matted and dirty. A man picked me up and took me in his van to a large kennel. I was given food which was fantastic, but I still felt very scared, there were a lot of big dogs in the kennel.
One day some people came and took me to their house, they bathed me which I wasn’t sure about, but I did feel better afterwards. I was given a great big meal and my own fluffy bed, in a nice safe place. Over the next few days I started to find my feet, I ate and slept a lot, finally feeling that I could let my guard down.
After a few weeks a man and a women came to see me. They played with my rope toy with me and I thought they were great. I sat as prettily as I could so that they could stroke me, and they said lots of nice things to me. They took me to my forever home. I have TWO beds there! I have walks everyday, get to travel around in their car and even to stay on their boat with them. They often give me footballs to chew – sorry, play with – and almost best of all they have a wood stove for me to lie in front of. Perfect.
Codie (formerly Buddy)
We had a message on our facebook page from Codie’s new mum so we thought we would share it here too -
“Nearly 3 weeks ago my family rescued a beautiful German Shepherd pup from you, who was being fostered with Belle. Just wanted to give you a quick up date on Buddy (now named Codie
); he’s turned out to be a fantastic little lad, and we’ve all completly fallen in love with him. He’s totally made himself at home, and is a very smart boy! We’re hoping to do agility with him in a couple of months as he is so clever and willing to learn.
Codie is so mischevious and playful, and is definitely his dads boy! ![]()
Got to go as he’s humbugging me to play ![]()
Thanks once again for giving Codie and other animals like him a second chance- you guys are great! ♥ ♥ ♥ ”
Sounds like Codie landed on his paws!!
Topsie
Beautiful small Jack Russell, currently quite thin. Very friendly and would be a quiet companion dog. Doesn’t like getting wet feet!
We had a message from Topsie’s new owner on our Facebook page -
“thanx 4 giving us the chance of rescueing the wonderful topsie. she is a great dog!”
She also said: ” This is the dog I rescued! she is soo cute and very friendly and makes a wonderful pet. now called polly or poppy, we cant decide. right now she is lying infront of the fire sleeping, aww.”
Always nice to hear things are working out well.
